Biography:

Dr. Alberto Tozzi is a distinguished epidemiologist and pediatrician with special focus on innovation in pediatrics and artificial intelligence in healthcare.

He worked for years at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità and collaborated with the World Health Organisation. Expert in vaccinology and surveillance of transmissible diseases. Managed several research projects funded by national and international bodies. Previous member of the Council for Information Technology of the American Academy of Pediatrics, of the American Medical Informatics Association, and of the Healthcare and Management System Society. Associate Editor of Frontiers in Public Health. Qualified as full professor in Hygiene, Preventive Medicine, Statistics, and Nursing Science. Appointed Institute for Scientific Interchange fellow.

Since 2004, Dr. Tozzi has been working at the Ospediale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù, holding key roles in infectious disease prevention, telemedicine and innovation in pediatrics, where he is head of the Predictive and Preventive Medicine Unit. As a corresponding member of the Pontifical Academy for Life, he is actively involved in the ethical implications of technological advances in the field of pediatrics. Dr. Tozzi is currently president of the International Society for Pediatric Innovation. He has written ” Impazienti. La medicina basata sull’Innovazione” (Il Pensiero Scientifico Editore).
